The “International Week of Winter Sports” of 1924 was a celebration of winter sports thrown by the International Olympic Committee. The celebration was in response to complaints that winter sports did not have their own Olympics, or weren’t widely included in the summer Olympics. A year later, the event was rebranded as the First Olympic Winter Games. The games were held in Chamonix, France, and as for the hockey…well, it was, shall we say, a one-sided affair.
